Treatment for hemroids
External hemoroids occur when too much pressure causes the anal veins to swell up. Treatment for external hemroids are such as sitz baths (warm baths), hemmroid suppositoties, using ice packs or soft cushions plus using loose underwear from natural materials. External hemroids will show up outside of the anus. More or less all lumps on or around the anal area are probably hemoroids (but not the case where the hemmroids have prolapsed - this is usually coming from internally but protruding externally).
Using a moist pad or tissue for wiping after a bowel moevment, often can help minimize anal irritation. Hemorrhoid pain can often be minimized by using a sitz bath, i.e. sitting in warm water for a quarter of an hour a couple of times a day. Using a chilled compress or even icepack can help in the reduction of swelling. If using an icepack, wrap it well in a towel so as to avoid any directcontact with skin. Patients often find over-the-counter creams for hemroids, or hemmroid foam bringing relief but they cannot be used to make hemmoroids disappear. Treating thrombosed external hemorrhoids must be done with other ointments.
Alternative hemmorroid treatments, much like mainstream doctors, the alternative doctors will point out how important it is to use a diet of high fiber content. Preventing hemorrhoids can be done by building up the anal and rectal veins (and the colon veins). For this, a recommended diet can consist of different berries like cherries, blueberries and blackberries. Also a good vitamin C intake is helpful. The so called Butcher's Broom, also known as Ruscus Aculeatus is a good component together with plant pigments like flavonoids (which are present in teas, fruit, soy etc). Other treatments include hemorroid suppository, ointments and herbal teas. These can offer some relief and reduce pain. One important component in an ointment is the pilewort (lat: ranunculus ficaria), it can also be used in teas and it works as hemmorrhoid relief. There are other methods like homeopathy, aromatherapy or acupuncture and acupressure. These also work well for treating hemorrhoids or when there are hemmerhoid symptoms.
